5 Reasons Vegeta’s Best Move Is The Galick Gun (& 5 Why It’s The Final Flash)
Vegeta is one of the strongest characters in the Dragon Ball universe. We take a look at why the Galick Gun (or the Final Flash) is his best move.
You Are Reading :5 Reasons Vegetas Best Move Is The Galick Gun (& 5 Why Its The Final Flash)
When you think of the Prince of all Saiyans, Vegeta and his moveset usually three moves come to mind. These moves are of course his Big Bang Attack, Final Flash, and Galick Gun. Two of these moves, however, outshine every other move he’s used simply due to the moments they were involved in.
The two moves we’re speaking of are of course his Galick Gun and Final Flash with one being used against Goku in their original battle and the other being used to attempt to destroy Perfect Cell. Which of these moves is his best move though? It’s hard to decide but that’s why we made this list to look at reasons each can be considered to be the best.
10 GALICK GUN IS ICONIC
The first time we were introduced to Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z was one of the most memorable moments in the series’s history. One of the moments to beat that moment on the iconic scale is of course the epic first battle between him and Goku which almost ended after the first grand scale beam struggle in Dragon Ball history.
This moment alone outshines just about any moment that Vegeta has unleashed the Final Flash on an opponent and has marked his Galick Gun technique in the pages of Dragon Ball history.
9 FINAL FLASH IS STRONGER
While the Galick Gun had more of an impact and apparently had the ability to destroy the planet, the Final Flash is still the more powerful move. This special move was unveiled by Vegeta in his ascended Super Saiyan form that he called Super Vegeta against Perfect Cell. It’s one of, if not his most powerful special move (at least in that saga).
This special move was one of the only things that truly damaged Cell when he originally transformed into his perfect state, catching him off guard and literally destroying half of his body before he regenerated it back.
8 GALICK GUN LOOKS COOLER
The Final Flash has more attack power but no one can deny that the Galick Gun technique looks way cooler. While the Final Flash has a somewhat unique charging pose with Vegeta having both arms pointed out before putting both palms together and unleashing a yellow beam, Galick Gun goes the extra mile.
Not only is the charging pose awesome but the actual look of the beam is a purple that not many other Dragon Ball special moves boast. It was the first time we’d seen a beam of this color in the series as well.
7 FINAL FLASH HAD BETTER BUILD UP
While the Galick Gun had an iconic entrance into the series with it being a surprise trump card that Vegeta brought to Earth, the Final Flash had build up that it can’t compete with. While it wasn’t outright said we were to believe that Vegeta had something special prepared for Cell he came up with during his super training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for so long.
When it comes to Dragon Ball we know that training means someone just unlocked a new ability. So when we finally see Vegeta unleash this new move it really feels like a payoff.
6 GALICK GUN HAS A HIGHER SUCCESS RATE
With Final Flash being one of the strongest techniques in Vegeta’s arsenal, you’d think that it would actually get the job done. That’s not the case at all because in reality, the Galick Gun has done more damage than that move.
The Galick Gun may have lost its debut battle against Goku’s Kamehameha beam but it’s more than made up for that blunder with its future appearances in the series. It has taken out a larger number of enemies even though some of those victories from the special move were not from the hands of Vegeta.
5 FINAL FLASH IS MORE EXCLUSIVE
That last comment brings us to this next positive of the Final Flash. Throughout the Dragon Ball series we find out that the Galick Gun is anything but exclusive to Vegeta. In fact we see this move used by characters such as Super Buu, Cell, Cabba, Tarble, Mira, Trunks, and of course Baby.
While all these characters somehow were connected to Vegeta when they used this move it doesn’t change the fact that it kind of makes the move seem less exclusive to Vegeta, unlike the Final Flash that’s only used by he and his son.
4 GALICK GUN IS MORE UNIQUE
The Galick Gun is one of the more unique moves in the Dragon Ball series. Not only is it a purple beam which is something that we never saw in Dragon Ball up until that point but it also has one of the weirdest charging poses and firing poses in the series.
Vegeta starts off with the backs of his hands touching and having an orb of energy surrounding him. After charging he points his palms out and pushes this orb of energy open with a beam of purple light. This is something rarely seen in the series from other beams.
3 FINAL FLASH WAS CREATED BY VEGETA
While the origins of the Galick Gun technique are unknown we can probably go off the assumption that it was originally used by his father, King Vegeta and those that came before him. The special thing about the Final Flash is that it is his own move. During his time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber during the Cell Saga he created this move himself.
This makes it all the more fulfilling to see this move become one of the strongest moves of the time and actually somewhat succeed in hurting Cell.
2 GALICK GUN HAS MORE VARIATIONS
We all know that when a move has tons of variations in the expansive universe of Dragon Ball, then it truly has made an impact. Galick Gun is one of those moves like the Kamehameha wave that you will probably never see have a lack of different versions in the many different adaptations of Dragon Ball, be it videogames or spin-off series.
These variations of this iconic move include the Final Galick Cannon, Galick Blazer, Double Galick Cannon, Father-Son Galick Gun, Brotherhood Galick Gun, Earth Splitting Galick Gun, and the Zero Distance Galick Gun.
1 FINAL FLASH HAS A STRONGER LOOKING CHARGING POSE
The Final Flash may not have the most unique poses to go along with it but boy, does it have some powerful looking ones. Seeing Vegeta stand with his arms wide open preparing to launch one of the largest energy waves seen in the series at that point really had fans everywhere excited to see it actually fire off.
Once he put his hands together that really sealed the nail in the coffin. Maybe that’s one of the reasons the move is so loved. It may not look the coolest but it has so much impact in every movement Vegeta goes through to unleash it that you can’t help but get hype.
